Description:

  • This role explores and develops a comprehensive understanding of how a production facility operates, with a focus on assembly operations.
  • Co-ops will examine the various manufacturing and support roles and responsibilities that enable the production system and learn how these different components work together to facilitate efficient assembly operations.
  • Additionally, they will be responsible for innovative projects that can create a real, measurable impact on the department's initiatives.
  • They will also champion the development and implementation of these ideas to drive continuous improvement within the production facility.

 

The qualified intern/Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and implements initiatives to drive continuous improvement of processes.
  • Demonstrates quick problem solving / rapid prototyping skills for issues that may have a negative impact on process or product quality.
  • Proactively engages with production and support roles to drive effective problem-solving
  • Makes sound tactical decisions to resolve urgent matters and manages cross-functional teams in problem-solving and prevention efforts.
  • Demonstrates strategic management skills and demonstrates the ability to adapt to evolving business requirements
  • Shows initiative on exploring personal interests which will have a positive, value-added impact to the business.

 

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (preferably industrial or mechanical)
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Organized.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Autodesk Inventor (preferred)
  • 3D Printing experience (preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel (experience with VLookup, Macros, etc. preferred)
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE May 18th – August 7th, 2026.
  • Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations.
