About the Role

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are a global industrial equipment manufacturer and systems integration company that is looking for a Co-Op or Intern to assist with designing the electrical systems for multi-million-dollar automation projects.  Headquartered in Paris, France, our Smart Automation Systems operations are in Louisville, KY.  We provide automation solutions and systems to the world’s leading parcel and post companies.  During the rotations, the successful Co-Op candidates will work both independently and as an integral part of our project teams and potentially travel to customer job sites.

 

Typical Co-Op functions include: 

  1. Assist in design, commissioning and troubleshooting new systems
  2. Create and update electrical drawings using AutoCAD
  3. Perform system checkouts of Fives’s designed Motor Control Panels at our vendor locations
  4. Support PLC programming
  5. Assist in developing test models using emulation software

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Be actively pursuing a relevant degree or have recently completed technical schooling
  2. Be able to follow direction
  3. Possess good organization and time-management skills
  4. Have the capacity and desire to learn AutoCAD
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  6. Physical ability to lift at least 25lbs, work safely on ladders, narrow walkways, and man lifts
  7. Ability and desire to learn PLC programming
