About the Role

Title: Minor League Strength and Conditioning Associate
Reports to: Assistant Director, Strength & Conditioning
Location: Allentown, PA (housing provided for non-local candidates)
Status: Temporary Seasonal

Position Overview

This seasonal opportunity provides the unique opportunity to work with the Philadelphia Phillies Strength and Conditioning Department to support the needs of elite athletes to help them reach their highest level of performance both on and off the field. This role is designed for current or recently graduate students looking to build their skills and gain experience working in professional baseball.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning and the AAA Strength and Conditioning Coach, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with implementation of Strength and Conditioning Program at designated affiliate such as running daily activations and warm-ups, as well as assisting with any speed/power work, conditioning, and resistance training as instructed by AAA Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • Maintain a productive affiliate weight room, assisting with equipment set up and break down over the course of each day
  • Assist with any in-season testing at the designated affiliate as designated by the Phillies Strength and Conditioning Program
  • Assist with daily reports and documentation entry to be completed on our Athlete Management System
  • Learn components of in-season programming in both a practical setting, as well as with individual meetings with Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning
  • Perform any other task designated by the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or a comparable field of study
  • Currently possess, or pursuing the CSCS
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and have a flexible schedule as needed

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels with players and staff
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects

Additional Details:

  • Housing provided
  • Paid hourly plus overtime for any hours worked over 40 in a given week
  • Duration: March through end of affiliate season
  • Meals: Provided when onsite, at least 2/day
  • Gear: Provided
