Job Description

Apex is seeking a Civil Engineering Summer Associate. We hire summer associates that are passionate about sustainable clean energy.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the engineering, design, and construction of renewable energy projects
  • Assist with civil design layout and drawings for wind, solar and battery storage projects
  • Assist with editing project contractual documents and technical exhibits
  • Support communications with key project stakeholders
  • Support construction submittal reviews and responses for on-going projects
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student studying civil engineering
  • Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Google Earth, Excel, and GIS software preferred
  • Knowledge of project management concepts preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
  • Course work or experience in the energy/power system industry; renewable energy experience is ideal
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expected graduation date in December 2026 or May 2027

Additional Information

  • The summer associate program will run from June 1 through August 7 but we can be flexible with the start and end dates
  • Hours: Full Time 
  • Type:  Non-Exempt
  • Paid Internship: Undergraduate, $17/Hour; Graduate, $27/Hour
  • Office Location: Our Charlottesville, VA headquarters
