Position Summary 

The Human Resource Intern will support the HR team by contributing to strategic HR initiatives and key talent management activities. This internship offers hands-on experience across multiple facets of human capital management. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to people and organizational effectiveness.

 

As part of our team, the intern will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in HR strategy, data-driven decision-making, and employee lifecycle processes within a collaborative and supportive environment driven by safety and our core values.

 

Key Accountabilities 

  • HR Analytics & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to support strategic decision-making, and develop dashboards and reports highlighting key workforce metrics and trends.
  • Policy & Compliance: Review and update HR policies to ensure alignment with federal and state regulations, and support audit preparation and documentation processes to maintain compliance standards.
  • Total Rewards: Contribute to the design and refinement of manufacturing hourly pay structures through market and internal equity analysis, and assist in building a standardized corporate job architecture inclusive of job families, career paths, and competency frameworks.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Provide support with recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, and program coordination.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture: Assist with engagement survey analysis and support initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Learning & Development: Support training program coordination and research best practices in leadership development.

 

 

 

Required Education, Experience & Skills 

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; HRIS familiarity is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow within Human Resources.

 

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills 

  • Data visualization/advance analytics (Power BI, Tableau, Excel Dashboards)
  • Statistical software (SPSS, R, Python)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Union relations / Collective Bargaining experience preferred.

Work Environment

The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant and office space. The position may occasionally require work in areas where moving machinery produces noise. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment issued for those locations. Temperature conditions can range from extreme cold to extreme heat. Frequent use of company communication devices, such as computers, phones, and other office electronics, is required.
