Leak Survey Technician-Summer Student

Are you ready to make a difference this summer? As a Leak Survey Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety of gas distribution systems. This position involves extensive walking and travel to various locations to inspect gas pipelines for leaks. It’s a perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys being outdoors and is passionate about safety and environmental protection.

Duration: Summer 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct walking inspections of gas pipelines to detect leaks using specialized equipment.
  • Travel to different sites and locations around Northern Ontario to perform inspections.
  • Document and report findings accurately.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to address any detected issues.
  • Participate in training sessions to learn about gas leak detection and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current student or recent graduate.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Good physical fitness to handle extensive walking, around 20 kilometers a day. 
  • Understanding and commitment to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Have a valid ‘G’ or ‘G2’ class Driver’s License.
  • A clean Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Background Check.
