POSITION SUMMARY

eX2 Technology is seeking a Field Construction Intern skilled in assisting with daily job site operations to join our team. As a Field Construction Intern, you will assist with coordinating subcontractors and vendors, maintain project documentation and support project management on active construction projects.   The successful candidate will get hands on experience in construction management of one of the most in-demand fields currently, building fiber optic networks and the systems enabled by them, using modern technologies by an industry leader.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Field Operations: Assist with site layout and maintain organized job sites. 

    Project Documentation: Assist with tracking subcontractor progress using GIS tool, create and update project drawings, maintain RFI and submittal logs, and generate meeting minutes and status reports. 

    Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination: Help coordinate deliveries and work goals for subcontractors and vendors. 

    Quality Control & Safety: Support quality control programs and help ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures. 

    Meeting Participation: Attend project meetings, document activities, and help track progress and issues. 

    Project Management Support: Assist with quantity take-offs, cost tracking, schedule updates, and project closeout activities.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

    Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.


Experience

    Technical Skills: Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, with an ability to read and understand construction documents.  GIS skills are desirable, but not required.


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

    Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with project teams and other stakeholders. 

    Soft Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and team-playing abilities are crucial for success. 

    Attitude: A positive attitude, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to anticipate and address problems are highly valued.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The incumbent is occasionally required to walk or stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the candidate may split time between work in a semi-quiet office environment and on project work sites, where there is moderate to occasional great noise levels.


Language Skills

Communicates effectively in oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring. 


Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
