The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an Architectural Intern to support projects within our Architecture Group, with a primary focus on our Building Envelope Team. This is a paid internship opportunity offering hands-on experience across multiple market sectors including federal, commercial, education, healthcare, and community projects.
This internship provides students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience working alongside licensed architects, building envelope specialists, and multidisciplinary teams while contributing to meaningful projects that shape the built environment. Interns will gain exposure to building enclosure systems, materials, detailing, and performance considerations that influence durability, sustainability, and long-term building performance.
What You’ll Do:
Interns at PRIME AE gain practical experience by supporting project teams through various phases of design, documentation, and project delivery. You will work in a collaborative professional environment where you can apply academic knowledge while developing technical and design skills, including exposure to building envelope analysis and detailing.
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on your background and project assignments, you may:
- Assist project teams in the development of architectural designs across multiple project phases.
- Support preparation of drawings, models, and construction documents using BIM and drafting tools.
- Assist the Building Envelope Team with detailing, material research, and documentation related to exterior wall systems, roofing assemblies, waterproofing, and façade components.
- Conduct research related to building codes, materials, and performance standards to support project compliance.
- Assist with design presentations, graphics, and visualization materials.
- Participate in coordination with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and planners.
- Support documentation, organization, and quality review of project deliverables.
- Observe and learn about construction administration processes, field investigations, and building enclosure evaluations as opportunities arise.

What You’ll Bring
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Architecture (BArch), Bachelor of Science in Architecture, or Master of Architecture (MArch) program.
- Interest in gaining experience across all phases of design, documentation, and construction.
- Interest in building enclosure systems, materials, and construction detailing is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Revit required.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
