Job Overview
We are seeking a Summer 2026 Construction Management & Engineering Intern to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Construction Management & Engineering Intern, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever evolving project needs.  This opportunity will be located at our client office in Chicago, IL and could have potential to be hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend active project meetings, including construction progress and coordination sessions
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and accurate meeting minutes
  • Track progress in the field through daily site walks using the 3‑Week Look‑Ahead schedule, report activity status and identify potential scheduling risks or delays
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on-site safety and quality compliance
  • Monitor RFI logs for overdue items or workflow bottlenecks and coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure timely responses and resolutions
  • Support tracking and documentation of contract modifications while learning the various types of contract changes, how they occur, and why they are necessary
  • Learn about the role of submittals in contract and construction documentation while tracking submittal statuses, identifying delinquent items, and helping coordinate solutions with project teams
  • Gain an understanding of construction contract documentation, including the types of documents typically included in contract packages
  • Assist in organizing, reviewing, and maintaining contract documents throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify project deliverables and key contractual requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, Bluebeam
  • Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
  • Have good to great organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior internship experience

Hourly Pay: $25, Ardmore Roderick is providing compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
