Modern Treatise provides in-depth reporting and commentary covering international developments and domestic political affairs from across the wide political spectrum. Modern Treatise digital platform also serves as a hub for the intellectual reader who values and engages with diverse perspectives.

Job Description

The International Nigeria Reporter Intern will cover international content focused on Nigeria as their regular beat for Modern Treatise.

Responsibilities:

  • Write a weekly column covering the social, economic, and political topics related to  Nigeria from a Nigerian perspective.

  • Special region-related coverage.

Duration: 6 months

This is a virtual and unpaid internship. Yet, you will gain valuable writing experience.

Qualifications

The candidate should be adept at understanding the domestic and geopolitical situation of Nigeria.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the nuances of domestic politics across Nigeria.

The candidate must be able to look at geopolitical subject matters from multiple perspectives.

The candidate must be adept at relying on fact-based evidence rather than political or activist wish-thinking.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the ever-shifting state of the economy or economies of Nigeria.
