About the Role

Description

First National Bank is seeking a highly motivated college intern to support strategic initiatives related to product development, ease of doing business, competitive research, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) planning, and marketing campaign development, as well as building out resource materials with policy and procedures. The Business Strategy & Analytics Intern role offers hands-on exposure to executive-level strategy, community banking operations, regulatory planning, and brand marketing within a community bank environment.

What will you do as an Intern?

  • Conduct strategic and competitive research on banking products, services, delivery models, and industry best practices to support product development and process improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze customer trends, market data, and competitive insights, and prepare executive-ready summaries, comparison matrices, and recommendations.
  • Assist with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) planning and documentation, including development of the written CRA Plan and support for tracking, measuring, organizing, and maintaining CRA-related activities and materials in alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Help create and maintain structured guidelines, policy documentation, and internal reference materials supporting strategic and lending initiatives.
  • Provide marketing and campaign support, including assisting with campaign development, concept ideation for integrated marketing and advertising, and ensuring brand consistency. 
  • Assist with reporting enhancements, including system coding support related to loan portfolio collateral reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to support strategic execution, operational efficiency, and executive-level initiatives.

Requirements

What will you need as an Intern?

  • To be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalency required
  • Completion of at least two years of college and be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Communications, Public Policy, Data Analytics, or a related field.  
  • Availability of up to 40 hours per week during summer months, beginning mid-May through mid-August. Must be punctual and dependable 
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Co-Pilot. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Interest in banking, finance, or marketing.
