BASIC FUNCTION:

The intern will support the Entrepreneur Development team by assisting with data management, reporting, and communications related to the Entrepreneurship Assistance Centers (EAC) program. The position is designed to provide hands-on experience in public-sector program administration, data systems, and statewide small business support initiatives.


WORK PERFORMED:

The intern will assist with the following:

 

  • Support maintenance and organization of the EAC database, including data validation and basic quality checks
  • Assist with compiling data for EAC reports, dashboards, and internal tracking documents
  • Support coordination with internal IT staff related to EAC database issues and enhancements
  • Maintain and update the EAC contact directory, including program managers and points of contact at each EAC organization
  • Assist with preparation of materials related to the EAC Annual Report
  • Support communications related to the EAC program, including internal coordination and external information requests as appropriate
  • Provide logistical and operational support for the EAC Annual Conference, including planning support and post-event documentation
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc data or reporting requests as needed

  • Understanding of public-sector grant and technical assistance programs
  • Experience working with program databases and reporting tools
  • Exposure to data governance, data quality, and reporting workflows
  • Professional communication skills in a government setting
  • Experience supporting statewide convenings and stakeholder coordination
  • Familiarity with economic development and small business support ecosystems

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education level required:

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in public administration, data analytics, economics, business administration, information systems, public policy, or a related field.

 

Knowledge Required: 

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with databases or reporting tools a plus
  • Ability to analyze and organize data accurately
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
  • Interest in small business development, economic development, or public service

 


HIRING SALARY:  $17.00
