Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible intern for a full-time 8-week summer internship. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience under the guidance of our talented professionals.

As a Logistics Intern, you will work closely with our logistics and operations teams to support various projects and tasks. You will gain exposure to logistics software, data analysis, and hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to apply their academic knowledge to real-world logistics challenges and develop valuable skills for a future career in logistics and supply chain management. 

This position will be based onsite at Wonderful Citrus located in Delano, CA. This schedule for this internship is 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. Days of the week and work hours may change due to business needs.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Assist in the management and tracking of inventory and shipments
  • Analyze logistics data and prepare reports to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements
  • Support the team in coordinating transportation and distribution tasks
  • Assist in developing and implementing logistics strategies to improve efficiency
  • Help with the preparation of logistics documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve logistical challenges. 
  • Participate in meetings and contribute insights related to logistics operations
  • Assist in the review and optimization of shipping and warehouse operations 
  • Update and develop departmental SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Assist with WOW projects and identifying quick wins
  • Provide general administrative support to the logistics team 

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • High School Diploma/General Education Diploma and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Agriculture, Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics or related
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of beginner proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to work autonomously
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • A passion for logistics and supply chain management

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour.
