About the Role

Job Description Summary

As an intern working on our Java desktop application, you will work on challenging projects to manipulate, display, find, transfer, and label medical images. The MIM platform uses techniques such as image deformation, image segmentation, and statistical analysis to solve the problems faced by today’s medical professionals. Additionally, the MIM platform uses automation to process and transfer medical data at just the right time for our customers. 

Job Description

What You'll Do: 

  • Write Java code in a large, longstanding, always evolving code base 

  • Create UI in Java using Swing. 

  • Document code, design specifications, and cybersecurity threat models 

  • Test code and write unit tests 

  • Work closely with experienced software engineers, including a personal mentor 

  • Learn about software engineering principles in an industry environment 

  • Learn about engineering best practices for development of regulated medical software 

  • Work on real features with a real-world impact on customers 

What You'll Need: 

  • Some experience writing code in coursework, projects, or previous internships 

  • An active pursuit of a bachelor's degree, preferably for computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or physics  

  • General problem-solving skills 

  • Strong analytical thinking 

  • Communication and organization skills 

  • An aptitude for math and science 

  • An existing understanding of medical imaging is not required
