Alera Group is hiring for 2026 Summer Interns!

Overview

Our Summer Internship Program offers hands‑on experience in the fast‑paced world of insurance and financial services. As an intern with Collective Choice, an Alera Group company, you’ll gain exposure to core business areas—including Employee Benefits, Property & Casualty, Wealth Management, and Retirement Planning Services—while also developing practical skills in supporting clients with health insurance education and enrollment.


You’ll work alongside industry professionals, receive mentorship, participate in professional development sessions, and engage with organizational leaders. Interns join a collaborative cohort, building networks and skills while exploring potential pathways to full‑time employment.


This role is ideal for students who enjoy client interaction, problem‑solving, and learning how insurance solutions support individuals and communities.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support clients by helping them understand insurance options and guiding them through enrollment processes with clear, accurate information
  • Conduct research, gather data, and assist with preparing documents, reports, presentations, and other internal materials
  • Engage with clients and team members by phone, online, and in person, ensuring timely follow‑ups and maintaining a smooth workflow
  • Maintain accurate records in internal systems and enrollment platforms while ensuring confidentiality and compliance
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and job‑shadowing opportunities to build industry knowledge and professional skills
  • Assist with project coordination, including tracking tasks, organizing information, and supporting outreach or office initiatives
  • Contribute ideas, ask thoughtful questions, and take initiative to support team goals and enhance the client experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Public Health, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain information clearly
  • Motivated, proactive, and collaborative, with a willingness to learn and incorporate feedback
  • Comfortable using standard office software and digital tools, including data entry and record‑keeping systems
  • Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Preferred: Bilingual or multilingual abilities
  • Preferred: Experience in customer service, sales, or community engagement


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The internship will run from early June through mid‑August, lasting approximately 10 weeks, with exact dates determined by the intern and their direct manager. There will be an opportunity to stay on part-time post internship during the fall months. 

 

The hourly rate is $25 per hour.
