About the Role

Job Title: Business Analyst Intern

Reports to: Director of Business Strategy & Analytics

Department: Business Strategy & Analytics

Position Summary

The Business Analytics Department is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, presenting, and communicating data to enhance processes, decision-making, and outcomes for FC Cincinnati. The Business Analytics Intern serves as a foundational member of the department, supporting analytics projects that drive fan insights, improve fan experience, optimize revenue, and inform strategic decisions across ticketing, marketing, partnerships, food & beverage, and retail. This internship provides hands-on experience with real-world sports analytics, data visualization, CRM systems, and business intelligence tools. The intern will work closely with Business Analysts, the Salesforce Admin & Analyst, Consumer Insights Analyst, and the Manager of Business Analytics to develop technical skills while contributing to meaningful projects that impact the organization. This is a part-time, hourly position averaging 24 hours per week during the internship period (typically May through August). College credit may be available if needed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Aggregate, clean, and transform data from internal and external sources to prepare datasets for analysis
  • Assist in building reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Tableau and other business intelligence tools
  • Support ad-hoc analysis requests across departments including ticketing, marketing, partnerships, and operations
  • Learn and utilize SQL to query databases and extract relevant data for projects
  • Assist with CRM data quality initiatives including duplicate identification, data standardization, and record updates in Salesforce
  • Contribute to consumer insights projects by analyzing fan behavior, survey data, and engagement metrics
  • Help maintain and update existing reporting infrastructure and automated dashboards
  • Participate in department meetings and collaborate with team members on ongoing analytics initiatives
  • Document processes and methodologies to support knowledge sharing within the team
  • Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and competitive benchmarking
  • Support match day and event analytics as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with coursework in economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science, sports management, business analytics, or related field
  • Foundational programming experience with R, Python, or similar statistical computing language
  • Familiarity with SQL or willingness to learn database querying
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exposure to data visualization tools preferred (Tableau, Power BI, ggplot2, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or database management preferred
  • Coursework or projects involving statistical analysis, data modeling, or machine learning preferred
  • Experience with Google Analytics, social media analytics, or digital marketing metrics preferred
  • Previous internship experience in analytics, research, or data-related roles preferred
