We are hiring an Intern to support our Engineering Team at our Subsea location in NW Houston.

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate client specifications to comprehend the requirements and application context.
  • Design according to the specified API standard(s) and client's specifications.
  • Execute design calculations and formulate mathematical models (PDD) using Mathcad/Excel.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to design and develop products that meet industry standards and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with vendors to acquire necessary information for seamless integration.
  • Specify technical requirements for procurement of materials and components.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Create and maintain documentation throughout the product lifecycle management such as Solid Works PDM and ERP system.
  • Prepare bill of materials (BOM) after selecting suitable materials for pressure-containing and controlling components, meeting API standards and NACE requirements.
  • Execute tolerance stack-up assessments for all components to achieve the desired fit and functionality.
  • Evaluate and endorse manufacturing process and assembly drawings.
  • Address dimensional non-conformance and material non-conformance (NCR) issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Formulate assembly procedures with a focus on clear and concise steps for product assembly.
  • Develop and oversee Testing procedures that meet the stipulated requirements of the relevant API standard and any specific client requirements.
  • Analyze test results and make necessary design adjustments.
  • Compile an operation and maintenance manual that includes troubleshooting and maintenance instructions for the client.
  • Assist in ongoing projects to standardize and unify design document standards by participating in meetings and preparing presentation materials as necessary.

 

  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Manage design projects from conception through to completion, ensuring timelines.
  • Maintain detailed design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 0-2 years design experience in oil & gas valves industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software Solid Works, Mathcad, EPDM and other relevant engineering tools.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as API 6A/16A, NACE, ASME, DNV 2.7-1/2.7-3.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities
  • Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
