About the Foundation

About the Investment Team

 

The Kresge Investment Office works to ensure the foundation has the necessary resources to achieve its mission of improving opportunities in America's cities by managing the foundation’s endowment. To maximize this role, the team is responsible for prudently investing funds across a wide variety of asset classes, including equity, fixed income, real estate, private equity, commodities, currency, and hedge funds. By combining a long-term investment horizon with innovative investment strategies, the team strives to consistently be a top performer in its sector.

 

About the Position

Our internship program offers the broadest possible exposure to global investment opportunities. You will have opportunities to learn investment insights from some of the best investors in the world.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

 

The intern will work closely with investment staff in all phases of the investment process, including projects that allow you to:

  • Utilize multiple different software packages to create Investment Committee materials
  • Assist in research projects, sourcing data, preparing charts, and conducting data analysis
  • Actively participate in manager meetings, compiling pre-meeting materials and post-meeting notes
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Current undergraduate pursuing bachelor’s degree, business-related degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Passion for learning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong work ethic and highest ethical standards
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
