About the Role

Job Description:


We are seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn self-motivated and creative individual to support the Operations Leadership Team of SOTG. As an Operations Intern, you will work closely with leadership in helping refine and draft policies that will be used to align operational practices across SOTG. You will be involved in developing perspectives on how to improve the data and analytics that drive performance and will actively network across SOTG and broader Seaboard. You will have access to executives in the organization and receive coaching and guidance while supporting this very important work that will contribute to the functioning of our organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, organization, and ongoing maintenance of the Operations Policy Manual, including document updates, formatting, and version control.
  • Assist with Safety Program initiatives, including tracking action items, supporting documentation updates, and helping coordinate safety-related reporting and communications.
  • Contribute to AI initiatives within Operations by assisting with project scoping, researching use cases, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation or analytics.
  • Perform data analysis on operational performance metrics, helping identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide support for the Continuous Improvement project portfolio, including tracking project status, maintaining dashboards, and preparing summary materials for leadership.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing Power BI dashboards and operational reports to improve data visualization and decision-making.
  • Help gather, clean, and validate operational datasets to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
  • Create presentations, summaries, and supporting materials for operational reviews and internal meetings.
  • Provide general administrative and analytical support on ad hoc operational projects as business needs evolve.


Skillset:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with interest in operational data and performance metrics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (data organization, basic formulas, formatting)
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Interest in continuous improvement, operations, or process optimization
