Job Summary:

The Content Intern / Contract Content Creator will play a key role in elevating Baldwin Supply’s digital presence and internal communications. This position is responsible for helping revamp the company website, producing written and video content for internal and customer-facing newsletters, strengthening Baldwin’s social media strategy, and building a library of professional photos and videos for ongoing use. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who is comfortable with a camera and a keyboard—Baldwin’s team will provide coaching on the industry and the business. Job Responsibilities:

Website Content & Development

  • Assist in revamping the Baldwin Supply website by writing, editing, and organizing page content
  • Draft compelling product descriptions, service pages, capability statements, and landing page copy
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure website content accurately reflects Baldwin’s offerings and brand voice
  • Help plan and implement site structure improvements for user experience and SEO

Newsletter & Written Content

  • Write articles, employee spotlights, project highlights, and industry updates for internal and customer newsletters
  • Create and edit video content for newsletter features and email campaigns
  • Develop a content calendar and coordinate with subject matter experts across the company for story ideas
  • Ensure all written content is on-brand, engaging, and tailored to the appropriate audience

Social Media

  • Help develop and execute a social media strategy to increase Baldwin Supply’s online visibility and engagement
  • Create and schedule posts across platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Draft social copy, source or create visuals, and monitor engagement metrics
  • Research industry trends and competitor social presence to identify opportunities
  • Highlight company culture, customer success stories, and industry expertise through social content

Photo & Video Asset Library

  • Capture professional photos and videos at the Plymouth office, Fridley belt shop, and other Baldwin Supply branch locations
  • Document facility operations, products, team members, customer interactions, and events for marketing use
  • Edit and organize photo and video assets into a well-structured library for ongoing use by the sales and marketing teams
  • Produce short-form videos for social media, website, and internal communications

Collaboration & Brand Support

  • Work closely with sales leadership, account managers, and branch teams to identify content opportunities
  • Ensure all content aligns with Baldwin Supply’s brand standards and professional image
  • Support trade show and event content needs as they arise (pre-event promotion, on-site coverage, post-event recaps)
  • Manage multiple content projects simultaneously and deliver on deadline

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  •  Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Strong portfolio or samples demonstrating writing ability and/or video/photo work
  • Experience with social media platforms in a professional or academic setting
  • Prior industry knowledge is not required—we will coach the right candidate on our business and industry

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Comfortable with photography and videography (DSLR, smartphone, or similar equipment)
  • Basic video editing skills (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar)
  • Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress or similar) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of social media scheduling and analytics tools
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills—comfortable working across teams and locations
  • Self-motivated with a curiosity to learn about the industrial distribution industry
  • Valid driver’s license for occasional travel to branch locations

Physical Requirements / Work Conditions:

  • Occasional travel to Baldwin Supply branch locations including the Fridley belt shop and other facilities
  • The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and move around facilities for photo and video shoots.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (camera equipment, tripods, etc.).
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; may be higher during facility visits.
  • Work is primarily conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting with periodic on-location shoots.
