Our Vacationer Program is a paid summer internship (4 weeks) offering real client exposure, project work, and structured onboarding. You’ll have a dedicated buddy, access to networking and social events, and the opportunity to be considered for an early Graduate offer.

About the team 

The Risk & Regulatory team advises clients on complex risk and compliance management initiatives and in doing so, helps clients achieve their objectives and ensure applicable regulatory requirements are met. Client engagements include risk and compliance management framework uplifts and system implementation, regulatory reviews, data strategy and automation, financial risk management, control transformation and operating model enhancements.  

 

We assist organisations across a wide range of industries including: banking and financial services, retail, government, higher education, utilities, mining and industrials sectors to understand and model uncertainty, learn from data, and optimise and automate business decisions. We are a global company and you will be working with, and learning from, peers from around the world. 

Our Advisory team works closely with clients to advise, and deliver solutions that address complex regulatory and operational risks. The team includes practitioners with risk and compliance expertise, and analytical skills to advise and support clients with enhancing their risk and compliance management practices, responding effectively to regulatory expectations and navigating the complex regulatory landscape This provides our clients with comfort that risks are appropriately mitigated, and drives intelligent decision making through the use of data. 

 

 

What will your typical day look like? 

Each day is different in the Risk & Regulatory team. You get to engage with clients, learn about their strategic challenges, opportunities, and help them achieve their objectives. Managing risks and regulatory change, complying with complex local and international regulations and navigating organisational transformation are a few examples of some of the exciting areas you get to work on and learn more about. At Deloitte, you have all the support you need from your colleagues and broader team including access to a global network of risk and compliance management professionals.  

 

You will: 

  • Support the team in helping clients with their operating model by contributing to the embedding of leading practices around governance, risks, controls and compliance. 
  • Support transformational engagements with a wide variety of clients across a broad range of industry sectors. 
  • Use structured problem solving to resolve complex regulatory & compliance challenges. 
  • Build your understanding of our clients’ industries and the different challenges that exist in a fast moving regulatory and competitive environment. 
  • Work collaboratively in driven teams to provide clients with best advice. 

 

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. 

We’re seeking penultimate-year students to join our Vacationer program. You are an inquisitive student with a knack for solving complex problems. You may have all or some of the following:    

  • Be studying or have completed a degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Finance or similar  
  • Great interpersonal skills and thrive in collaborative environments  
  • A passion for data analysis and presenting data for visual impact 
  • A drive to dissect and solve complex challenges with creative solutions 
  • Motivation to use your own initiative to achieve high standards for your clients and team
  • Must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Australian/NZ Citizen
