About the team

Our Canberra Employment Taxes team, being part of our Global Employer Services (GES) team, specifically advise on complex employment tax matters including assisting on matters relating to payroll, PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and fringe benefits tax (FBT), mitigating compliance risks and providing innovative solutions – this is a critical role to support the reputation of employers, particularly in the current labour and skills shortage.

With complexity and change in Tax and IR regulations comes a need for data-driven insights and fit-for-future solutions - that's where we come in. The employment tax team, working collaboratively with other market-leading teams at Deloitte, combines tax research, automation techniques and data analytics, to advise and assist employers to maximise performance and achieve sustainable compliance with respect to its employment tax and reporting obligations.

 

What will your typical day look like?

The employment tax team at Deloitte are at the forefront of exciting developments with automation and analytical solutions and you will have the opportunity to work with a forward-thinking team in a supportive environment:

  • Providing advice, and designing and implementing new solutions for clients
  • Assisting with the implementation of technology for tax and utilising tax technology and analytics
  • Working across the business of Deloitte to solve multi-disciplinary problems with major Australian government departments

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

We’re seeking final year students or recent graduates (within 2 years) to join our graduate program.  As a bright, ambitious and hard-working student, you’ll also:  

  • Be studying or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce, HR, Economics or Finance
  • Enjoys working with a team and can work with a diverse range of clients across Australia and other parts of the world
  • Is self-driven, resourceful and problem solver oriented
  • Enjoys working with numbers and technology and is self-motivated drive our digital offerings
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively toward common goals and utilise past experience in successfully delivering analytically driven insight
  • Has Australian Citizenship

 

You won’t be expected to know everything from day one. You’ll be supported through structured learning, feedback and collaboration.
