About the Role

 Jedson Engineering is an Engineering Consultancy headquartered in Cincinnati, OH. We provide full-service engineering, procurement and construction management services to industrial process manufacturers that operate in pulp & paper, chemical, consumer products, power, heavy industrial, and food & beverage markets. We are in a significant growth mode and it’s an exciting time to be joining our business! 
 
 WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:   
 

We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in our Reston, VA office for a Summer Internship.  Ideally this will start beginning of May, and conclude at the beginning of August.   


In this position, you’ll join a dynamic engineering team in the execution of client projects. This person will execute process designs within their area of specialty or expertise that includes the research and analysis of data to make sound design decisions aligned with company, client, and project objectives. You’ll be expected to apply theory in a practical context to determine feasibility of design, identify potential process upsets and malfunctions incorporating appropriate remediations, and apply commercially available technology for process execution. Perhaps most importantly, we place a high value on professional ethics, both in the application of codes and standards and in your interactions with our clients.

YOUR IDEAL BACKGROUND:

The successful candidate should have an entrepreneurial spirit, and be excited by opportunities to add value to our clients with Jedson’s engineering expertise. Strong communication skills, collaboration and courage to challenge the status quo are cornerstones of the Jedson Edge.  

    Progress on a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. 

    Experience in one or more of the following industries: Pulp & Paper, Chemicals, Food and/or Beverage, preferred.

    Experience in leading or executing process designs in the form of engineering calculations documented on PFD’s, P&ID’s, general arrangement drawings, specifications, design basis, and associated lists.

    Great customer relationship skills/management experience.
