Intern - Software Controls Engineering

The Software Controls Engineering Intern will support the development, testing, and troubleshooting of software used in custom test equipment and industrial automation systems. This role is designed for students pursuing degrees in engineering or computer science and provides hands-on experience in programming, hardware integration, and automated testing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, creating, editing, and troubleshooting simple code for industrial and testing machines
- Support development of vision inspection and barcode scanning scripts
- Assist with database interaction programs and user interface development
- Participate in hardware/software integration tasks and system testing
- Review and interpret electrical schematics under supervision
- Document testing, code updates, and engineering work
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Qualifications:
- Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field
- Previous formal training in LabVIEW
- Basic exposure to other programming languages such as, TestStand, C, Python, or Ladder Logic
- Interest in data acquisition systems, PLCs, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi
- Basic understanding of analog/digital signals and communication protocols
- Willingness to learn to read electrical schematics
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
