About the Role:
The Human Resources Intern plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources Manager with various functions essential to the smooth operation of the department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student eager to build practical HR skills in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This year, our primary projects focus will be enhancing our Onboarding and Training processes, expanding our Health and Safety Program, and strengthening how we manage information and internal communication.
Locations: 150 Cherry Street , Toronto, ON (Island Club), 75 Prince Arthur Ave, Toronto, ON (City Club)
Contract period: April 2026 – August 2026
Key Responsibilities:
General HR Duties:
- Assist with daily HR inquiries via email and phone, delivering timely and professional service.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential employee files.
- Support the planning and execution of Employee Appreciation initiatives and engagement activities.
- Provide administrative support across all HR functions as assigned.
Recruitment:
- Work with hiring managers to prepare or update job postings.
- Screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and assist with candidate communication.
- Conduct reference checks and update hiring managers on results.
- Prepare offer letters and new hire packages (non‑management roles).
- Assist with new employee orientation, HR policy reviews, and onboarding materials.
Safety:
- Log and report all employee incidents; assist with WSIB Form 7 submissions when required.
- Attend Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and assist with administrative support.
- Follow up on monthly safety inspections and track corrective actions.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources Management or related field.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Prior experience in Hospitality or HR or related roles is an asset but not required.
