About the Role

The Environmental Summer Intern will support the Corporate Environmental Team in finalizing the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) across all Dal-Tile manufacturing facilities in the United States. This internship provides hands-on experience in environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and operational integration within a manufacturing environment. This internship is structured as a project-based experience to be completed within the 12-week program. This position is located at the Dallas Corporate office and is an onsite internship opportunity. This is not a remote role.

The selected intern will present project outcomes at our annual Intern Expo Day on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Program Details

  • Program Dates: Monday, May 18, 2026 – Friday, August 7, 2026

  • Length: 12 Weeks

  • Schedule: Full-time, hourly

  • Required: Must be available for the full program duration and attend/present at Intern Expo Day

Project Scope & Responsibilities

The purpose of this internship is to support the finalization and implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) across U.S. manufacturing facilities.

The intern will:

  • Assist in documenting environmental procedures, operational controls, and compliance workflows across production processes

  • Conduct data collection and analysis related to environmental programs, waste streams, and emissions

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and EHS teams to integrate environmental and sustainability practices into daily manufacturing activities

  • Help prepare audit-ready documentation and compliance materials for EMS rollout

  • Support development of training materials and environmental performance metrics

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen environmental performance

Project Impact

A successful project will:

  • Enhance sustainability integration within daily plant operations

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with data analysis tools is a plus
