The Environmental Summer Intern will support the Corporate Environmental Team in finalizing the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) across all Dal-Tile manufacturing facilities in the United States. This internship provides hands-on experience in environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and operational integration within a manufacturing environment. This internship is structured as a project-based experience to be completed within the 12-week program. This position is located at the Dallas Corporate office and is an onsite internship opportunity. This is not a remote role.
The selected intern will present project outcomes at our annual Intern Expo Day on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Project Scope & Responsibilities
The purpose of this internship is to support the finalization and implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) across U.S. manufacturing facilities.
The intern will:

Assist in documenting environmental procedures, operational controls, and compliance workflows across production processes

Conduct data collection and analysis related to environmental programs, waste streams, and emissions
-
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and EHS teams to integrate environmental and sustainability practices into daily manufacturing activities

Help prepare audit-ready documentation and compliance materials for EMS rollout

Support development of training materials and environmental performance metrics

Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen environmental performance
Project Impact

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with data analysis tools is a plus
