(Job Summary)

 

The Turnberry corporate summer internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain real-world professional experience with a well-established South Florida company. The program is intended to develop the business leaders of tomorrow. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership, work on meaningful projects, participate in learning and development opportunities, and join in networking and social events with other Team Members and fellow interns. 

 

The internship will be in person at our Aventura Mall corporate office beginning in May and ending in August. Interns will work full-time 40 hours per week during the 10-week program. 

 

What You Do:

(Duties/Responsibilities)

 

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern (this is a PAID program) will have the opportunity to work across financial planning, reporting, and business performance analysis. Responsibilities may include:

 

Budgeting & Forecasting Support

  • Assist with the monthly budgeting and forecasting process by gathering inputs from cross-functional partners.
  • Help update forecast templates and support the consolidation of department submissions.
  • Support variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast) and summarize key drivers.
  • Participate in period close support activities, including validating data and reconciling key metrics.

 

Financial Reporting & Performance Analytics

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and scorecards for internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Track KPIs and help maintain reporting cadence and standard performance metrics.
  • Support the preparation of management reporting packages and leadership-ready summaries.

 

Modeling & Data Management

  • Assist in building and maintaining basic financial models used for revenue, expense, headcount, or operational planning.
  • Manipulate datasets using Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, charts) to support analysis and reporting.
  • Help ensure data accuracy and integrity by auditing inputs and validating outputs.
  • Support documentation of assumptions, inputs, and model logic for repeatable processes.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Accounting and other teams to understand drivers behind actual results and business changes.
  • Assist with collecting operational inputs needed for planning and performance reviews.
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests to help answer “why” behind financial results and business performance.
  • Participate in meetings and help convert discussion points into actionable reporting or analysis.

 

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Support process improvement initiatives to streamline reporting, planning, and forecasting workflows.
  • Help identify opportunities to automate repetitive reporting using Excel tools and/or BI platforms (Power BI) when applicable.
  • Document processes, templates, and step-by-step instructions to improve consistency and knowledge sharing.

 

What You Bring to the Table:

(Requirements)

 

  • Undergraduate student with relevant work experience and/or coursework in a related field.
  • Must be an Accounting and/or Finance major. 
  • Must be entering Junior or Senior year at the time the internship begins.
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule over 12 weeks (about 3 months) for the internship period starting in May.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to the Corporate Office.  
  • Demonstrates dependability when following instructions, responding to management direction, and completing tasks in a timely manner or notifying the appropriate person with an alternate plan.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; highly data‑driven mindset. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, formulas, charts). 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks. 
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the team. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks. 
  • Legal eligibility to work in the country where the internship is located.
