(Job Summary)

 

The Turnberry corporate summer internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain real-world professional experience with a well-established South Florida company. The program is intended to develop the business leaders of tomorrow. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership, work on meaningful projects, participate in learning and development opportunities and join in networking and social events with other Team Members and fellow interns. 

 

The internship will be in person at our Aventura Mall corporate office beginning in May and ending in August. Interns will work full-time 40 hours per week during the 10-week program. 

 

What You Do:

The Human Resources Communications Intern (this is a PAID program) will support the Human Resources team in crafting, organizing, and executing internal communications that strengthen culture, enhance Team Member engagement, and elevate Turnberry’s employer brand. This role is ideal for a student with strong writing skills, an interest in HR, and a passion for storytelling and employee experience. Responsibilities may include:


Internal Communications & Content Creation

  • Draft and edit internal announcements, e‑blasts, and HR messages.
  • Support messaging for company‑wide initiatives such as engagement programs, recognition campaigns, and culture events.
  • Create clear, consistent, and polished HR communications using Turnberry’s tone and brand voice.
  • Assist in developing content for digital screens, intranet pages, and employee resources.

 

Employee Engagement & Culture Support

  • Help coordinate and promote HR engagement events, such as appreciation weeks, culture campaigns, and recognition programs.
  • Assist with writing spotlights, employee stories, and features tied to HR initiatives (e.g., Intern Spotlights, Women’s Month, GPTW results, etc.).
  • Gather and organize feedback to support communication planning and HR programming.

 

Project & Operational Support

  • Support HR leadership with documentation, communication calendars, and tracking logs.
  • Assist in the creation of presentations, summaries, and communication plans for HR meetings or leadership updates.
  • Maintain organized folders, templates, and process documents to support consistency across HR communications.


Brand & Messaging Alignment

  • Ensure all HR communications follow Turnberry brand guidelines, formatting standards, and key messaging pillars.
  • Partner with HR, Marketing, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity across all distributed materials.
  • Conduct basic research to benchmark communication best practices and bring fresh ideas to HR projects.

 

What You Bring to the Table:

(Requirements)

 

  • Undergraduate or graduate student with relevant work experience and/or coursework in a related field.
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule over 12 weeks (about 3 months) for internship period starting May.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to Corporate Office.  
  • Demonstrates dependability when following instructions, responding to management direction, and completing tasks in a timely manner or notifying the appropriate person with an alternate plan.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Relevant coursework or prior experience related to the internship field. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong attention to detail, grammar, and consistency in formatting and message clarity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Canva or design platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks. 
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the team. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks. 
  • Legal eligibility to work in the country where the internship is located.
