EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

- Education
A graduate degree from a program which is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME)
Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare administration.
JOB DUTIES
- The intern will work on projects as identified by the UTSW Hospital staff. Projects may vary depending on opportunities that exist at the University Hospital, and will be tailored to the institutions needs and the intern's strengths. The intern will use their knowledge and experience in the field of study and assist and work with multidisciplinary teams. Examples of potential projects include: * Administrative Fellowship Program Design (Design Program Application as well as Web page) * Lean Six Sigma Project * Hospital Operations * Operations Checklists Weekly Completion * Evening/Weekend Projects * CUH Fit Up * Shadow House Supervisor * Shadow Bed Control * Shadow Nurse Manager / Charge Nurse * Shadow Housekeeper * Shadow Lab / Imaging / Pharmacy Tech
- Observes hospital management and administration to gain perspective on the day to day challenges and decisions faced by an academic and not-for-profit hospitals.
- Participates in operational rotations and a diverse set of assignments.
- Interacts with various types of leadership. Builds strong relationships with mentors and senior level executives.
- Works both independently and/or as a member of multidisciplinary team.
- Attends management meetings, and various committees throughout the Health System.
- May participate in fundamental projects that support ongoing department initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned
