Internship Summary:

We are looking for a Trust & Investments Intern to join our team this summer! This internship provides meaningful, hands-on experience in trust administration, farm management, and investment-related projects. You will learn how to support daily business operations, manage project work, draft professional documents, and build your professional network.  This role is ideal for students interested in finance, agriculture, business, investments, or law who want real-world exposure to both the financial services industry and agricultural asset management.


Location: 

This is an on-site internship based at our Muscatine, Iowa banking location.


What You Will Do:

  • Gain exposure to a broad range of trust, legal, estate, investment, business, and agricultural topics.
  • Draft key documents for the department, including:
    • Farm management annual summary letters for landowners (income/expense)
    • Farm management letters outlining agricultural economic conditions and trends
  • Develop more efficient documentation and tracking systems for Trust, Farm Management, and Estates.
  • Participate in farm inspections, including documentation and photography.
  • Engage across multiple bank departments such as Internal Audit, Commercial Lending, Finance & Accounting, Credit, Mortgage, Branch Banking, and Marketing.
  • Participate in educational sessions and trainings to develop and enhance core skills and industry knowledge. 
  • Engage in networking sessions with other CBI Bank & Trust interns, and interns at other banks, to learn from banking professionals and participate in teamwork sessions.
  • Present your summer learnings and project outcomes at the end of the internship.

Requirements

 What You Have:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agriculture-related field, or Pre-Law (junior-level status preferred).  
  • A minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant work experience, internships, or involvement in related activities such as tutoring or business fraternities.
  • Farm background or agricultural understanding, and an interest in the legal or investment field.
