Special Information:

Specific Job Information:
This is an office-based internship position that will assist Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks' (FWP) Wildlife Habitat Bureau with updating program web pages, developing outreach materials, updating geospatial information and online mapping displays, and entering data into internal databases. The goal of this internship position is to help FWP habitat programs better present information to the public in variety of formats.
The position will focus primarily on improving website, mapping, database, and outreach materials for FWP's Migratory Bird Wetlands Program and Wildlife Management Areas, as well as other habitat programs as needed. This position will work closely with habitat program managers daily, and communicate frequently with geographic information services staff, communication & education division staff, and regional wildlife managers & area wildlife biologists around the state.
This position will be primarily office based in Helena, but there may be some opportunities for travel to other regions occasionally. Experience and skills with standard computer programs, GIS programs, technical writing, marketing, and digital communications will be helpful for this position, but above all the position will require creativity and a willingness to learn.
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):
Must be currently enrolled in a college or university.
