About the Role

Description

Summary of Description:

The Intern will provide support to a department or function. Responsibilities may include working on special projects; conducting research; telephone support; providing customer service; running reports; entering data; sorting documents; and operating standard office equipment.    


Duties:

  • Researches, analyzes, and documents solutions in an independent and timely manner. 
  • Collaborates to create documents and/or programs. 
  • Prepares and assists with presentations. 
  • Participates in team meetings and brainstorming sessions. 
  • Shadows employees and managers to gain professional experience.  
  • Files documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other prescribed methods in established filing systems. 
  • Prepares, reviews, and/or processes a variety of correspondence, logs, information, paperwork, forms, and/or other related information in assigned area of responsibility. 
  • Runs standard reports in assigned area of responsibility. 
  • Routine administrative tasks. 
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. 


Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D); and currently enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree.


License Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License as per State law or requirement


Specific Skills:

  • Use computers and related software applications;
  • Operate standard office equipment;
  • Maintain records and files;
  • Data entry;
  • Use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling;
  • Provide customer service;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction;
  • Ability to count or measure.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year. 
  • Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
  • Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
  • Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection. 
  • Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.
  • Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
