JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Quality Assistant to join our growing team.

 

External Job Description

Position Summary

 

The supplier quality engineering intern will support supplier quality manager of managing materials quality and suppliers’ QMS, utilizing modern quality statistical tools and lean-manufacturing tools to consistently reduce defective raw materials and provide defect-free material quality. This role includes hands-on support in data collection, data analysis, corrective actions management, product/process audit and supplier audit, and lean-manufacturing improvement activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier quality claims, coordinate with operation teams, suppliers, sourcing managers, supply chain managers and product engineers to handle supplier claims and manage supplier claim data base to help supplier quality manager to build up supplier quality scorecard.
  • Manage corrective actions and verify the implementation of the RCCA.
  • Support product/process audit and supplier audit. Conduct inspection at supplier sites and JW facilities as needed.
  • Support supplier quality manager on validating materials specification and drawings, reviewing specifications and drawings with suppliers to ensure fully implementation.
  • Support new supplier and new part qualification and development.

 

Required

  • Currently enrolled rising junior or senior students majoring in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, materials science and engineering, or related technical/engineering field (Eligible Grad dates: 8/2026 – 12/2027)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power BI, Minitab, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation and organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and work to a high caliber while demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

 

Recommended

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Good verbal and written language, communication skills.
  • Familiar with quality management and statical tools and lean-manufacturing tools.
  • Relevant internship or previous work experience
  • Leadership experience and relationship-building skills
