As a Technical Implementation Intern, you will work closely with a specific client team, playing a critical role in becoming a subject matter expert, and collaborating closely with resources in international markets. Reporting to a Lead Technical Architect, this role requires effective communication and operational management, demanding a cross-functional partnership with internal teams, including Support, Implementation, Development, Data Sciences, and Operations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Learn the architecture, functionality, and use cases of our Fraud, Returns, and Entity Monitoring APIs
  • Shadow a Lead Technical Architect as the primary operational liaison dedicated to a key client, fostering a strong, trust-based partnership by consistently delivering high-touch service and exceeding expectations
  • Aid in consulting with the assigned client to design, develop, implement, and test the Accertify solution and platform; continuously identify areas for operational improvements
  • Assist client and internal teams with identifying, researching, and troubleshooting Production issues
  • Support operational intelligence reporting and alerting, utilizing operational tools and languages such as Splunk, SQL, DataDog, and PowerBI
  • Help communicate effectively with client and internal stakeholders, facilitating clear, detailed exchanges of operational requirements and technical specifications
  • Learn of emerging fraud trends and technologies; Maintain awareness and help proactively recommend operational improvements and enhancements
  • Assist in preparing operational visualizations and analyses for client presentations

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in technology, business, finance, or related fields
  • Above-average class performance as demonstrated by college GPA 
    • 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, including expert-level proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid experience coordinating operational processes and managing communication across diverse teams
  • Knowledge of modern web and mobile application technologies
  • Proven capability to convey complex operational and technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with online payment processing, billing systems, and fraud detection platforms
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and file transmission processes (SFTP)
  • Resilient, adaptable, and capable of effectively navigating fast-paced, ambiguous operational environments involving international client resources
  • Collaborative mindset, solution-oriented, motivated, and results-focused

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with online payment processors, billing service providers, and tools/platforms/resources used to combat online fraud
  • Operational knowledge of payment processing and dispute management processes

 Additional Requirements:

  • Location: 2 Pierce Place, Suite 900, Itasca, IL 60143
  • Workplace Flexibility: On-Site (5 days in-office per week)
  • Full-time, 40-hour week position
  • Monday – Friday 9 am - 5 pm CST 
  • Internship program runs from June 1st to July 31st (9 weeks)
  • Interns are allowed three non-paid days off throughout the 9-week program; they must work with their hiring leader to coordinate these days. 
  • Interns will have two non-paid holidays during the program (Juneteenth and Independence Day).
  • The expected hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour
  • Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work for Accertify in the U.S. is required, as Accertify will not pursue Visa sponsorship for this position.
