About the Role

Description

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized summer intern who is eager to gain hands-on experience supporting both Legal and Human Resources functions in a mission-driven nonprofit environment. This role is ideal for a student who is comfortable working with documentation, administrative projects, and confidential information, and who takes pride in accuracy and thoughtful organization. The intern will assist with contract file organization, digitization of agreements, and administrative support related to trademark and copyright portfolios, contributing to important behind-the-scenes work that helps our programs run smoothly.


This is a great opportunity for someone interested in legal, nonprofit, or administrative careers to build practical skills while supporting meaningful work that strengthens communities. The internship is part-time (15 hours per week) and paid at $20 per hour.


Responsibilities

  • Support contract file organization projects by reviewing and updating records for book rights, vendors, and other types of agreements, ensuring all documentation is properly filed. 
  • Assist legal counsel with internal communications and administrative support related to the organization and maintenance of trademark and copyright portfolios.
  • Assist Legal Counsel with reviewing, cataloging, and scanning original executed publishing and other contracts, and verifying that each agreement has been fully digitized and uploaded to Salesforce.
  • Provide support on additional human resources functions as needed.

Requirements

  •  Currently enrolled in a college or university and possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Strong communication and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage document review, filing, and recordkeeping tasks with accuracy.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to support multiple projects across Legal and Human Resources.
