About The Company
Relay is the smarter, modern alternative to outdated radios. Millions of frontline workers still rely on static channels and clunky devices that weren’t built for today’s pace of work. Relay replaces them with a voice-first platform that delivers real-time translation in 30+ languages, GPS tracking, panic alerts, and seamless WiFi + cellular coverage. It’s the radio of the future—trusted across hospitality, manufacturing, logistics, and more to keep teams connected, included, and moving fast. Our mission is to empower the people who keep the world running—with technology that makes their jobs safer, easier, and more connected.
About the Role

Relay is transforming the physical world into a searchable, actionable data asset. We’ve moved beyond "Big Radio's" analog past to build the Relay SOAR™ Platform, which treats voice and movement as the new keyboards of the enterprise. By capturing the "Human Signal," we enable frontline teams in hospitality, manufacturing, and healthcare to move from reactive chaos to proactive control.

Ranked among the fastest-growing tech companies in North America, we are looking for the next generation of "Relayers" to help us digitize the final frontier of the workforce.

Join us in Raleigh and let’s get LIT.

The Role: We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Design Intern to support our marketing and brand initiatives. In this role, you won't just be "making things look pretty"—you will be a key contributor to our visual identity, helping to translate complex technology into compelling visual narratives across digital and print media.

The ideal candidate lives at the intersection of creativity and strategy. You will help maintain the visual integrity of the Relay brand, ensuring that our look and feel remain consistent from the first social media impression to our sales enablement materials. Your mission is to elevate our visual communications and provide the creative team with the fresh perspectives required to drive engagement.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation & Design

  • Multi-Channel Asset Design: Create engaging graphics for social media (e.g., LinkedIn), email marketing campaigns, blog headers, and digital ads.
  • Sales & Marketing Collateral: Assist with the layout and design of one-pagers, case studies, whitepapers, and slide decks (PowerPoint/Google Slides) to equip our sales team with professional materials.
  • Video & Motion Support: Support the team with basic video editing and motion graphics to bring static assets to life for our digital channels.

Brand Stewardship

  • Visual Consistency: Act as a guardian of the Relay brand guidelines, ensuring correct use of typography, color palettes, and logos across all internal and external materials.
  • Asset Management: Help organize and maintain our digital asset library, ensuring files are properly named, tagged, and easily accessible for the wider team.

Collaboration & Ideation

  • Brainstorming: Participate in creative kick-off meetings and contribute fresh ideas for upcoming campaigns, trade shows, and internal culture events.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with the Marketing, Sales, and People teams to execute design requests that support broader company goals.

What You’ll Have

  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communications, or a related field (Junior or Senior standing preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) and Figma.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio (PDF or website link) demonstrating a solid understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and branding. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
  • Attention to Detail: A pixel-perfect mindset with the ability to proof your own work for errors before submission.
  • Communication: The ability to articulate your design decisions and accept constructive feedback with a growth mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Modern Tooling: Experience with Figma for web/digital design or collaborative brainstorming.
  • Motion Skills: Basic proficiency in After Effects or Premiere Pro.
  • AI Fluency: Familiarity with using AI tools (like Gemini, ChatGPT, Midjourney or Adobe Firefly) as part of the ideation/workflow process (not as a replacement for design).
  • Web Basics: Understanding of basic HTML/CSS or experience with CMS platforms like WordPress.

Why Start Your Career at Relay?

  • Work at the Edge of Innovation: We just secured our 100th patent. You’ll work with technologies spanning AI-driven noise suppression, real-time language translation, and advanced IoT connectivity.
