Agency Communications Intern

The Agency Communications Team is seeking a highly motivated summer intern to support our growing marketing team.  As a part of the Agency Communications Team, you will be responsible for understanding the independent agency business model, the needs of Plymouth Rock’s independent insurance agents, and the tools required for agents to competitively sell Plymouth Rock products. 

The person in this role will assist in the production of materials and resources that agents utilize to effectively sell our products and support the development of new ideas to help agents grow their businesses. The candidate will also support email campaign development, the expansion of our social media library, centralized marketing platform, and other unique projects. Projects include creation and coordination of various marketing materials, communication campaigns, and other one-off projects. 

The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, an eagerness to learn and familiarity with managing competing priorities. If you are detail-oriented, can manage deadlines and have a desire to learn new skills, you’ll be a good fit for this role. The selected candidate will be in office 20+ hours per week. 

Responsibilities: 

• Support the development, testing and optimization of digital content including emails, social media, and agent marketing materials
• Lead competitive analysis on industry marketing strategies and email best practices 
• Assist in the management and monitoring of social media pages  
• Partner with our designers and copywriters to better understand and explore user experience as it applies to content for our customers and agents 

 Qualifications: 

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Business or related field 
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills 
• Strong writing skills 
• Ability to effectively present concepts and/or deliverables 
• Organized with strong multi-tasking skills and impeccable attention to detail 
• Interest in the latest email marketing trends and best practices for marketing 
• Team-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to think creatively and analytically 
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite 
• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus
