About The Company
At Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, we began in 1980 as a hospice dedicated to providing compassionate care to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses. Over the years, as our communities have grown, so have we—expanding our services to include palliative care, memory care, and grief support. In 2024, we opened the first free-standing Palliative Medicine clinic in southeastern North Carolina, providing expert care for those managing serious illnesses, focusing on symptom relief, quality of life, and patient-centered decision-making. Additionally, our LifeCare Memory Partners division is proud to be the only provider east of Raleigh, north to Virginia, and south to Charleston to be accepted into the prestigious CMS GUIDE program, empowering caregivers and enhancing the lives of individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Today, we care for over 1,000 patients daily across southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina. Our services are offered in homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and our serene inpatient hospice care centers in Wilmington, Bolivia, and Whiteville. Grief support is central to our mission. We provide free counseling for adults and children, including workshops, individual sessions, and programs like Sunrise Kids, ensuring that families have the tools to navigate loss with compassion and connection. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on our community's generosity and our Foundation's support to ensure we can provide care to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. Guided by our values of quality, teamwork, respect, compassion, and integrity, we are dedicated to serving all touched by life-limiting illness.
