Your role:

This is a Java Developer Co-op position within Global Relay’s software development team.

The primary responsibility of the role would be to implement a data analytics engine and application with a Hadoop software stack, under the guidance of senior developers and architects. This would also involve refining the requirements for the application in conjunction with product management. The role would be required to research different implementation options and present back to both the architects and product management staff a set of the most viable implementation options plus an assessment of how the technology options affect the requirements.

About you:

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate from a Computer Science or related field with Co-Op experience
  • Course work or work experience with Java
  • Course work or work experience with any of the following is an asset:
    • Hadoop (Map Reduce, HDFS, HBase)
    • Spark framework
    • Text processing using Solr or Lucene
    • Agile development methodologies
    • Test driven development
    • Continuous integration systems
    • Service oriented architecture 
    • Web services technology such as REST, JSON, or Thrift

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in accordance with provincial law. Salaries are displayed in the form of annual base salary but are paid out semi-monthly for the duration of employment.

Base salary range
$42,000—$66,000 CAD
