POSITION PURPOSE

8-week Internship program with Lending Team & Credit to observe and to review credit and financial reports to determine risk involved in loaning money or extending credit.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • One-week basic Credit Analysis training. 
  • Spreading and analysis of commercial financial statements for prospective and existing loan customers.
  • Reviewing loan request presentation packages including loan structuring, collateral analysis, guarantor analysis, and calculation of Global Debt Service Coverage.
  • Rotations through various departments as available. 
  • Shadowing opportunities as assigned.
  • Customer meetings and calls assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: Pursuing Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, or Finance,

                                                preferably enrolled in Commercial Banking Certificate Program. 

Required experience:        Minimum junior in college (to be senior or pursuing Master’s in the next Academic

                                                year.

Skills/Abilities:                  Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritize assignments to

                                                meet deadlines.

Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex financial information and

identify relevant risks.

Strong verbal and written communications skills.

CAREER PROGRESSION: Successful candidates will have the opportunity of becoming Credit Analyst I. 

POSITION LOCATION: Aside from the training session in Richardson, Texas, the primary position location

will be various Austin Banking Centers. Applicants must be based in Austin area. Housing or relocation costs will not be covered. Only the hotel, travel, and food costs of training will be covered.

Average Hearing:               Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Repetitive Motion:              Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or

                                                fingers.

Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or

                                                products, or operate machinery.

Physical Strength:            Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.  Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. 

                                                (Almost all office jobs.)

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

None:                           No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).

 

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

Reasoning Ability:   Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization.   

                                                Able to interpret various instructions.

Mathematics Ability:         Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and

                                                selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage.   

                                                Able to perform very simple algebra.

Language Ability:               Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and 

                                                encyclopedias.  

                                                Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling,

                                                and grammar.  

                                                Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct 

                                                pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present,

                                                perfect, and future tenses.
