Social Media & Digital Content Creator Intern
Schedule: M-F 8:30a.m. – 5 p.m., with flexibly depending on needs. May require event participation on evenings and weekends. Hybrid Flexibility (3 days onsite/2 work from home).

What does a summer intern at Canandaigua National Bank do?
Our interns experience firsthand what it is like working in the world of financial services. As a summer intern you will work side by side with our team to provide individuals, businesses, municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations with access to all the financial services they will ever need. Interns will act as a member of the team for the summer, assisting the department and helping achieve the bank’s goal – of ensuring our community thrives and grows.
Throughout the summer, interns will have an opportunity to connect with each other, shadow within a branch, network with different departments, and enjoy social events. The summer culminates in a presentation to their managers and the Executive Team.
This position is a paid internship/co-op for Summer 2026. Program begins Tuesday, May 26th, 2026.
Social Media Intern
The Social Media & Digital Content Creator intern will assist the Communications Team with social media posts, internal communications utilizing the intranet site, research, and helping to tell the bank’s story to external audiences. In this role, you will:
- Plan for, develop, distribute, and analyze the performance of social media content for CNB’s social platforms on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X
- Review and update annual editorial calendar
- Collect visual assets (photos and video) using in-house cameras and equipment both on-site and off-site
- Review and update asset management practices
- Support community management efforts on social media channels
- Review and provide recommendations to optimize intranet processes and practices
- Develop social media-specific graphical treatments that creatively interpret brand elements
- Research financial literacy content across social media platforms and develop a plan to sustainably create similar content in CNB branding.
- Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
What would our ideal candidate look like?
- Currently pursing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, or Business. Coursework in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing preferred.
- Experience with various Social Media Platforms.
- Possess strong communication skills and organizational skills.
- Desire and comfort interacting with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally.
- Possess knowledge of Social media management (content creation, posting, community engagement, etc.)
- Experience with paid promotion of social media content a plus
- Experience with Graphic design (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc. preferred)
- Experience with videography and video editing (Adobe PremierPro, etc. preferred).

Compensation - $18-$20 per hour
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
