Community Engagement Intern
Schedule: PART-TIME (20-29 hrs./wk.): Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., with flexibly depending on needs. May require event participation on evenings and weekends.
Location: 1150 Basin Park, 1150 Pittsford-Victor Rd., Pittsford, NY 14534 with Hybrid Flexibility
What does a summer intern at Canandaigua National Bank do?
Our interns experience firsthand what it is like working in the world of financial services. As a summer intern you will work side by side with our team to provide individuals, businesses, municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations with access to all the financial services they will ever need. Interns will act as a member of the team for the summer, assisting the department and helping achieve the bank’s goal – of ensuring our community thrives and grows.
Throughout the summer, interns will have an opportunity to connect with each other, shadow within a branch, network with different departments, and enjoy social events. The summer culminates in a presentation to their managers and the Executive Team.
This position is a paid internship/co-op for Summer 2026. Program begins Tuesday, May 26th, 2026.
Community Engagement Intern
The Community Engagement intern will assist the Community Engagement Team with corporate event planning, our philanthropic support, and external/internal communications
- Support event planning, preparation, logistics and day of execution.
- Create content for SharePoint (CNB’s intranet)
- Report on historical and current sponsorship and contributions
- Design community impact one pagers, creating visual summaries using impact data
- Data collection and entry
- Create “success stories” from non-profit organizations that the bank has partnered with
- Assist with internal and external communications.
- Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
What would our ideal candidate look like?
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, or Business. Coursework in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing preferred.
- Involvement in executing events
- Possess strong communication skills and organizational skills.
- Desire and comfort interacting with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally.
- Experience with Graphic design (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc. preferred)

Compensation - $18-$20 per hour
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
