KPMG’s Tax team helps clients navigate complexity and change — from new technologies and regulations to evolving business models. We provide insights, governance and innovative solutions that help organisations operate effectively and meet their tax obligations, working with clients ranging from major financial institutions to well‑known brands and private individuals across New Zealand and beyond.
Tax work is dynamic and intellectually challenging, and it matters most when businesses are growing, expanding offshore or rethinking how they operate. As a Tax Graduate, you’ll be part of these moments, gaining hands‑on experience, learning from experts and building skills that will set you up for a successful career.
\n- Apply knowledge of legislation, case law, and IRD rulings to identify tax planning issues and ensure compliance.
- Familiarity with tax lodgement programme and payment requirements.
- Utilise understanding of financial statements for tax functions.
- Prepare accurate client tax calculations and lodge tax returns in compliance with legal requirements.
- Respond effectively to clients' queries, assist in problem-solving, and identify value-added opportunities.
- Maintain client confidentiality and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and procedures.
- Are working towards a Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Law, or another relevant discipline, with a preference for those whose studies align to Chartered Accountancy or Law Professional Studies pathways (preferred but not essential).
