Job Description

We are seeking a highly pragmatic and hands-on Production Planning & Internal Sales Intern to drive our operational efficiency and support key customer interfaces. In this foundational role, you will gain invaluable practical experience by actively contributing to production planning, material coordination, and critical internal sales support functions. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of production, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining strong internal customer relationships, all within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Strategic & Pragmatic Contribution: Contribute to maintaining a high-performance operational environment by directly supporting production planning and material management processes. This includes developing and maintaining production schedules, proactively identifying and addressing potential scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks, and performing capacity simulation and analysis. You will be responsible for generating production orders, managing component allocation based on business priorities, and proactively identifying and managing missing parts to optimise production flow.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Efficiency: Embed continuous improvement principles within our daily operations by actively participating in initiatives to enhance scheduling efficiency, reduce production order overdue rates, and optimise resource utilisation. You will assist in generating and analysing reports to identify trends, track performance, and support data-driven decision-making, fostering an environment where efficiency and accuracy are paramount. This also involves managing and coordinating BOM and Production order amendments, and overseeing the process for extra stock returns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Act as a critical support for various operational teams and directly engage in internal sales support. You will serve as a key point of contact for production planning-related inquiries and also assist with internal customer service during downtime. This includes taking calls, reviewing sales emails, loading orders, checking stock, and working closely with the sales team, ensuring seamless coordination and effective communication across Engineering, Sales, Logistics, and Production teams.

Innovation & Data Utilisation: Support the adoption of efficient methodologies by tracking, reporting, and analyzing relevant performance data. You will contribute to setting up and maintaining build forecasts in SAP for seasonal demand, incorporating historical data and sales projections, and assisting with SAP Sales Order Troubleshooting. This role offers exposure to how digital tools and data are leveraged for operational enhancement.

HSE & Compliance Adherence: While focusing on core operational tasks, you will adhere to all DCNZ Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures and guidelines. You will learn to identify and report incidents and near misses, contributing to a safe and responsible working environment.

Qualifications

Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Personal Attributes and Working Style: Highly pragmatic and hands-on, eager to translate theoretical knowledge into tangible results, with a strong willingness to learn and contribute. Possesses a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.

Experience and Know-How: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel, is required.
