Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated emerging talent to participate in a 10-week immersive internship program from June 8, 2026, to August 14, 2026. This program offers university and graduate students hands-on experience through project-based work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Throughout the program, Interns will have exposure to mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.

This internship will help define the state of the art for computational material design and modeling. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform comprehensive literature review for modeling crystal growth and defects in microgravity environments
  • Identify key parameters for model outputs
  • Perform preliminary work building computational models of inorganic materials
  • Contribute ideas for process improvement and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited university in a related field
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Previous experience with DFT or MD models
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with crystal growth and/or material design preferred
  • Ability to travel for in-person orientation and program kickoff as well as for final presentation at program completion

 Preferences:

  • Previous internship, coursework, or project experience

Hourly rate: $27.00 - $37.00

*Hourly rate determined by academic year, college major, line of business, geography
