Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Safety Intern / Safety Coordinator to support our Safety Department through a combination of administrative and field-based responsibilities. This role provides hands-on experience in construction safety, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention while working closely with operations and human resources.


Key Responsibilities

Safety Administration

  • Assist with incident reporting and root cause investigations, including the collection, review, and verification of incident documentation.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of See Something, Say Something and Near Miss safety programs.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining companywide safety and compliance training within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
  • Monitor and review AI-based vehicle camera detections for accuracy and safety trends.


Field Safety Responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite safety, health, environmental, and quality audits, including PPE compliance and hazard identification.
  • Assist with accident and near-miss investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to identify unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of construction safety practices and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Loss Prevention, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and other federal safety regulations and the ability to interpret regulatory requirements.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with database and reporting systems.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel weekly to job sites.
