The NHMLAC is seeking a Getty Marrow Undergraduate Intern, Exhibition Development (GMU Intern) for our Exhibitions department. The GMU Intern works closely with the Exhibition Developers to create new exhibition content.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Lead conceptual research for new exhibition on microplastics.
- Assist with research and label writing for new exhibitions.
- Conduct image research for exhibition on Channel Islands.
- Assist Exhibition Developers in conducting prototyping and visitor evaluation for exhibitions.
- Other duties as assigned by Exhibitions Developers and departmental needs.
This position has the following requirements:
- Be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate in either a bachelor’s degree program or an associate’s degree program. Students must have completed at least one semester or two quarters of college by June 2026. Students who graduated after April 1, 2026 are also eligible. (Students who are enrolled in a second BA or BS program are not eligible.)
- Attend college in or be a permanent resident of LA County.
- Be a United States citizen or permanent resident (non-citizen authorized to live and work in the United States on a permanent basis; also known as a "green card" holder). Students with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) status valid through the internship period are also eligible.
- Be able to complete the full 10 consecutive weeks of the internship. The GMU Intern can select one of the following internship periods:
- June 1 to August 7, 2026
- June 8 to August 14, 2026
- June 15 to August 21, 2026

The hourly rate for this position is $18.47 an hour with excellent benefits. This is a full-time temporary, non-exempt position.
