About the Role

Description

Beck Flavors offers an immersive intern program that enables participants to gain hands-on experience in the field of Flavor Chemistry. Interns will work alongside Beck employees to relate and apply classroom knowledge to flavor creation, product development, and flavor manufacturing.


Duties/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

· Assist with compounding liquid and powder (i.e. Spray dried, Plated) flavors.

· Assist with finished product development samples.

· Assist Regulatory and QA with document requests and product and raw material testing.

· Assist with the manufacture production batches.

· Learn the science/art of flavor development, and analytical techniques (ex. GC-MS) by working closely with Senior Flavorists.

Learn FDA regulations as it pertains to flavor labeling, chemical handling, and manufacturing standards.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Must be 21 years of age.

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand instructions given in English.

· Intermediate math skills including but not limited to addition and subtraction of fractions are required.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

· Manufacturing or food production experience.

· Basic computer skills are preferred.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Easily adaptable to frequently changing tasks and responsibilities.

· Advanced written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience:

· Currently enrolled in college at an accredited University.

· Junior/Senior level student pursuing a degree in Food Science or Chemistry, or related field

· Completion of Food Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry before the start of internship (preferred).
