About the Role

Pharmaceutical Development Scientist Intern

Position Summary:

  • Work Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm (10-12 week summer internship)
  • 100% on-site

Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses. The site provides a range of integrated services for oral solid dosage forms, from formulation development and analytical testing to clinical and commercial-scale manufacture.  The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our talented team has over 25 years of experience providing analytical services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects.

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Pharmaceutical Development Scientist Intern. The Pharmaceutical Development group at Catalent is responsible for drug product innovation, formulation development, process development, process refinement and improvement. This means everything to developing prototype formulation batches to in-process testing and the packaging of prototype stability supplies. What we do is vital to achieve Catalent’s future growth strategy and maintain relevance within the pharmaceutical/biotech market.

The Role:

  • Performing physical characterization of excipients and APIs
  • Assisting with the manufacture of prototype formulation batches
  • Conducting in-process testing as necessary
  • Packaging prototype stability supplies as necessary5
  • Maintaining documentation in accordance with good documentation practices and Pharmaceutical cGMP compliance
  • Learning the functional use of various Pharmaceutical Lab equipment and instruments
  • Ensuring 5S standards are met and maintained
  • Ensuring that all Catalent safety procedures are followed in adherence with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Identifying and communicating adjustments to address potential safety concerns through the appropriate channels
  • All other duties as assigned

The Candidate:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Must be an undergraduate or master’s student in biology, chemistry, mathematics or engineering or health sciences related field of study
