In the role of Hydraulics Intern, we'll count on you to:

  • Conduct structural analyses, evaluations and designs; develop design options or recommendations 
  • Complete structural inspections assisting specialized teams using Rope Access, ROV, or Drones.
  • Assist with preparing contract documents, including drawings, specifications, design documentation and criteria, and cost estimates.
  • Assist with various new and/or rehabilitation of hydraulic structures, including dams, spillways, gates, outlet works, diversion structures, retaining walls, cofferdams, floodwalls, water conveyance structures, foundations, and concrete structures.
  • Prepare inspection and design documentation, including critical reports
  • Perform engineering assignments that may require critical thinking and creativity to address unique structural elements that have limited or no specific code-based guidance
  • Coordinate structural design with multi-disciplinary teams 
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit Mathcad, SAP2000, or similar analytical software, advanced finite element software (LS-DYNA, ANSYS, Abaqus)
  • Possess strong interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills and an attitude.
  • Design coursework completed in concrete and/or steel
  • Outdoor activity interests

  • Willingness to assist in field assignments
  • Structural Certifications


Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
